George Barnett Offensive Line | University Of Iowa Athletics
The University of Iowa’s offensive line has been named one of 10 semifinalists for the Joe Moore Award, which recognizes college football offensive line units that demonstrate toughness, effort, teamwork, consistency, technique and finishing.
The Joe Moore Award is named after Joe Moore, who is considered one of the most respected offensive line coaches in college football history. It is the only major college football award that honors an entire unit rather than individual players.
Iowa’s offensive line is led by coach George Barnett and features center Logan Jones, guards Beau Stephens and Kade Pieper, and tackles Gennings Dunker and Trevor Lauck. This group has started every game for the Hawkeyes this season. Jones, Stephens and Dunker have combined for 111 career starts. Lauck and Pieper are both first-year starters.
The unit has contributed to Iowa gaining more than 200 yards in four games this season while allowing just 13 sacks. The Hawkeyes have also outrushed their opponents in seven out of nine games. Notably, they compiled 245 rushing yards during a comeback win over Penn State on October 18 and ran for 310 yards in their season-opening victory against UAlbany.
Iowa previously won the Joe Moore Award in 2016 and was recognized as a semifinalist in both 2020 and 2024.
The No. 21 ranked Hawkeyes (6-3 overall, 4-2 in conference play) will face No. 17 USC (7-2 overall, 5-1 conference) on Saturday. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:40 p.m. Central Time and will be broadcast on BTN as well as the Hawkeye Radio Network and ESPN Radio.
