Iowa announces updates to future football nonconference schedules

The University of Iowa has announced changes to its future football nonconference schedules. The announcement, made on Thursday, details new opponents and dates for upcoming seasons.

Iowa will play North Dakota in the final nonconference game on September 18, 2027, in Iowa City. The team will also host UNI in the season opener on September 1, 2029.

The updated schedules are as follows:

For the 2026 season, Iowa is set to face Northern Illinois on September 5, Iowa State on September 12, and UNI on September 19.

In 2027, the team will play Ball State on September 4, travel to Iowa State on September 11, and host North Dakota on September 18.

The only nonconference game listed for the 2028 season is against Western Michigan on September 16.

For the 2029 season, Iowa will open with UNI on September 1 and then play Northern Illinois on September 15.

Looking ahead to 2030, Florida Atlantic is scheduled to visit Iowa City for a game on August 31.
