The University of Iowa women’s golf team is set to complete its fall season at the Ally Invitational, which will take place in West Point, Mississippi. The event is scheduled for three days, starting Monday, October 20, at Old Waverly Golf Club.

Iowa’s team lineup for the Ally Invitational features junior Maura Peters, senior Riley Lewis, senior Shannyn Vogler, junior Ximena Benites, and freshman Sunny Wang. The Hawkeyes are part of a 15-team field that includes Arkansas, Cal State Fullerton, Florida, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville State, Mercer, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Sam Houston State, Southern Miss, Troy, ULM, Vanderbilt, and Xavier.
Old Waverly Golf Club, the venue for the tournament, is recognized as a championship course designed by Jerry Pate and Bob Cupp. The par-72 layout includes deep bunkers and water hazards that present challenges to players. The course is noted for its history and its reputation as a leading venue in women’s collegiate golf.
Reflecting on recent performances, junior Maura Peters led Iowa at the Prairie Dunes Invitational by finishing tied for 41st with a score of 153 over two rounds. Senior Riley Lewis finished tied for 43rd with a score of 154. The Hawkeyes placed tied for 10th at Prairie Dunes with a total score of 619 across two rounds. Iowa has consistently used the same five golfers throughout the season, and the Ally Invitational marks the fifth consecutive meet with this lineup.
After concluding the fall season at the Ally Invitational, the Hawkeyes are scheduled to begin their spring season at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, from February 1 to 3.
