Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement.
Johnson County will be holding elections to vote in the newest city council and schoolboard members for our communities.
To vote in the city council or schoolboard elections, you must be registered to vote in the state of Iowa. If you are not registered to vote, or you are not sure if you are, you can find out how to get registered here.
Important dates and instructions about voting are provided below, along with the address to the Johnson County Auditor’s Office.
Wednesday, October 13, 2021 is the first day for in person, early voting and the first day that absentee ballots can be mailed. See below for more information on early, in person voting and on absentee ballots.
Monday, October 18, 2021 is the last day to request an absentee ballot request form. You can download the absentee ballot request form or get the form in person from the county auditor’s office. Sign and return the ballot request form to the county auditor’s office by 5 p.m. This is also the last day to pre-register to vote.
Monday, November 1, 2021 is the last day for in person, early voting at the county auditor’s office.
Tuesday, November 2, 2021 is election day! All polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at one of Johnson County’s many polling locations. Mail in ballots must be turned in to the county auditor’s office by 8 p.m. You can still register to vote at a polling location on this day.
