Iowa women’s golf finishes 12th at The Ally to close fall season

The University of Iowa women's golf team wrapped up its fall season at The Ally tournament, held at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi. Competing against 14 other teams, the Hawkeyes finished 12th with a total score of 907 over three rounds.

Junior Ximena Benites ended her final round with a 1-over-par 73, placing her in a tie for 52nd. She recorded four birdies and 10 pars. Senior Shannyn Vogler also posted a 1-over-par 73, tying for 75th after making five birdies and eight pars.

Maura Peters, a junior, shot a 78 in her last round and finished tied for 29th with a total score of 220 across the tournament. Freshman Sunny Wang carded a 79 in her final round to tie for 64th place. Senior Riley Lewis completed the lineup with a 10-over-par 82, also tying for 75th.

Florida secured the team title with an 8-under-par performance. Abbey Schutte from Arkansas won the individual title at 9-under.

The Hawkeyes will begin their spring season at the Puerto Rico Classic, scheduled for February 1-3 in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
