Iowa women's golf sits twelfth after two rounds at The Ally tournament

The University of Iowa women's golf team completed the second round at The Ally tournament in West Point, Mississippi. After two rounds at Old Waverly Golf Club, the Hawkeyes are in 12th place out of 15 teams with a combined score of 604 for 36 holes.

Junior Maura Peters leads Iowa's effort, tied for 11th place individually after recording a total score of 142 (two under par). Peters had four birdies and eight pars during her second round following a career-best opening round.

Freshman Sunny Wang improved her performance in the second round, moving from an initial score of 77 to a 75. Her total stands at 152 (eight over par), tying her for 54th place. Junior Ximena Benites is tied for 61st with scores of 79 and 75 over the two rounds.

Florida currently leads the tournament with a team total of 559 after two rounds. Elizabeth Rudisill holds first place on the individual leaderboard with a six-under-par score of 138 (74-64).

Iowa will continue play at The Ally on Wednesday, October 22, starting at 8:30 a.m. CT.
