Marcus Paschal, American former professional football player | Iowa Hawkeyes Men's Football
Former University of Iowa safety Marcus Paschal will act as the honorary captain for the Hawkeyes when they face Penn State on Saturday at Duke Slater Field at Kinnick Stadium. The game is scheduled to start at 6:08 p.m. Central Time and will be streamed on Peacock.
Paschal, who played for Iowa from 2003 to 2006, was a four-year letterman and contributed to the team’s participation in four bowl games during his college career. His statistics include 199 tackles, three interceptions, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, one blocked kick, and 17 pass break-ups.
As a senior in 2006, Paschal received second-team All-Big Ten honors. After college, he joined the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2007 and also spent time with teams in Atlanta, Indianapolis, and Baltimore.
Since 2014, Paschal has been head football coach at Largo High School in Florida, where he graduated.
According to the University of Iowa’s announcement: “Paschal will accompany the Iowa captains to midfield for Saturday’s pregame coin toss. He will also be with the Hawkeyes in the locker room before and after the game.”
