Iowa men’s wrestling announces full schedule for upcoming season

The University of Iowa men’s wrestling team has announced its full schedule for the 2025-26 season. Head coach Tom Brands revealed that the Hawkeyes will host six dual meets at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, with further details on match times and television coverage to be provided later.

The season will begin at home against Bellarmine on November 6. Iowa will also host Pittsburgh on November 21. On December 12, the team will face Chattanooga and Utah Valley in Hannibal, Missouri as part of the Journeymen Wrestling’s “Uncivil War” event.

For nonconference road duals, Iowa is set to compete against Iowa State on November 30 and Oklahoma State on February 22. The team will participate in the National Duals Invitational in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from November 15-16. Iowa is scheduled to meet Missouri in the opening round at 9 a.m. Central Time.

The new year will start with the Soldier Salute tournament at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa, from January 3–4. Big Ten home duals include matches against Wisconsin (January 9), Penn State (January 16), Minnesota (January 30), and Michigan (February 13).

Away from home, Iowa will travel for conference duals against Nebraska (January 23), Ohio State (February 6), Michigan State (February 8), and Purdue (February 15).

Postseason competition begins with the Big Ten Championships on March 7-8 in State College, Pennsylvania. The NCAA Championships are scheduled for March 19-21 in Cleveland.

Reflecting on last season, Iowa achieved a record of 14 wins and one loss overall, with a conference record of seven wins and one loss. The team finished third at the Big Ten Championships and fourth at the NCAA Championships. Five wrestlers earned All-American honors, including one national champion. Additionally, Iowa led national attendance figures for the eighteenth consecutive year.
