The University of Iowa men's wrestling team has been named the No. 1 seed and will compete against Missouri in the opening round of the National Duals Invitational, presented by Paycom. The event is scheduled to take place at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on November 15-16.
Iowa holds a 4-2 record all-time against Missouri. The teams first met in 1967, with Iowa winning 24-8, and most recently faced each other in the 2015 National Dual finals, where Missouri won 18-12.
The Hawkeyes have a long history at the National Duals tournament, having participated 20 times with a cumulative record of 72-15-3. Iowa has secured six titles (1992, 1995, 1996, 2008, 2009, 2010), finished as runner-up four times (1994, 1997, 1998, 2015), placed third seven times (1990, 1993, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2012), and achieved fourth, fifth, and sixth place once each.
Against the current tournament field, Iowa has an all-time record of 392-137-9.
The invitational features 16 teams and a total prize purse exceeding $1 million. The top eight teams will receive payouts, with $200,000 awarded to the champion. Second and third place will receive $150,000 each, while fourth place will earn $75,000. Payouts for fifth through eighth place are set at $50,000, $40,000, $25,000, and $20,000 respectively. All participating teams will receive a minimum of $20,000 for attending.
Automatic entries were given to the top 12 teams from the final 2025 NCAA Division I standings: Cornell, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, NC State, Nebraska, Northern Iowa, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech all accepted their invitations. The remaining spots were filled by a random draw among teams ranked 13th to 24th in the NCAA standings: Arizona State, Lehigh, Little Rock, Missouri and Wyoming.
