The University of Iowa, in partnership with the Big Ten Conference, has released the start times and television broadcast details for select games in the 2025-26 women’s basketball season.

The Hawkeyes are set to appear in four nationally televised games: against UConn on December 20 (FOX), at Maryland on January 22 (NBC), at UCLA on February 1 (FOX), and at Nebraska on February 16 (FOX). Their game against Michigan on February 22 will air either on FOX or FS1, with the tip-off time yet to be determined.

In total, Iowa’s women’s basketball team will be featured 19 times during the regular season across major television networks or Peacock. The rest of their games can be viewed via B1G+ or ESPN+, which require a subscription.

For conference play, teams will have one home-and-away series and face 16 other teams once each. Of these single-play opponents, eight will be played at home and eight away.

Additional schedule notes include back-to-back road trips for Iowa: to USC on January 29 followed by UCLA on February 1; then at Nebraska on February 16 before heading to Purdue on February 19. The Hawkeyes will also host Nebraska in Iowa City for a New Year’s Day game, marking their first home contest on that date since 2006. Seven out of eighteen conference games are scheduled for Sundays. The regular season conference schedule is expected to conclude Sunday, March 1 with twelve teams playing that day. Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis is set to host the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament from March 4-8 for its thirty-third edition.

Fans are invited to attend “Hawkeye Hoops from Downtown presented by HyVee” scheduled for Friday, October 17. This event takes place outdoors behind Burge Residence Hall starting at 5:30 p.m., where supporters can see both men’s and women’s teams ahead of the new season.

This year, Iowa adds five newcomers: freshmen Addie Deal, Layla Hays, Journey Houston and sophomore transfers Emely Rodriguez and Chit-Chat Wright. With nine underclassmen total, this is the largest group since the 2012-13 season.

Last year saw Iowa claim two wins in the Big Ten Tournament and advance past Murray State in round one of the NCAA Tournament. They secured their ninth consecutive twenty-win season—second longest streak in program history—and head coach Jan Jensen recorded the second-most wins by a first-year coach for Iowa women’s basketball.
