Head coach Tyler Stith commented: "We settled in nice after a slowish start. The guys competed hard from the first hole on. We have an opportunity to move up with a good performance tomorrow.
Max played really nice in the morning round. He continues to improve and gain confidence with each tournament. He put in a lot of work this summer and it’s paying off big time."
Iowa will finish play at the Fighting Irish Classic tomorrow.
