The University of Iowa Athletics Department announced that season tickets for the 2025-26 women’s basketball season have sold out, marking the third consecutive year of sellouts. The department stated that more information about student ticket programs and limited single-game ticket availability will be provided at a later date.
Iowa’s women’s basketball team currently holds the nation’s longest active streak with 35 consecutive home sellouts. The program has also ranked in the top 10 nationally for attendance over each of the past six seasons.
For the upcoming season, Iowa welcomes five new players: three freshmen—Addie Deal, Layla Hays, and Journey Houston—and two sophomore transfers, Emely Rodriguez and Chit-Chat Wright.
Fans are invited to attend “Hawkeye Hoops from Downtown presented by HyVee” on Friday, October 17. The event will take place at the outdoor basketball court behind Burge Residence Hall starting at 5:30 p.m. Central Time. Attendees will get their first look at both the men’s and women’s teams ahead of the new season.
Last year, Iowa achieved two victories in the Big Ten Tournament and won its NCAA Tournament first-round game against Murray State. The Hawkeyes also reached their ninth straight 20-win season—the second-longest such streak in program history. Jan Jensen, in her first year as head coach, recorded the second-most wins by a first-year head coach in program history.
