Iowa football announces 2025 player council ahead of new season

The University of Iowa football program has announced the members of its 2025 Player Council. The announcement was made by Moon Family Head Football Coach Kirk Ferentz on Monday.

Fifteen players were selected for the council, which is intended to help shape team policies and participate in decision-making throughout the year. According to the university, the group consists of nine graduates, two seniors, two juniors, and two sophomores. The selection process involved input from both coaching staff and players.

"The purpose of the group is to assist in formulating policies and being involved in team decision-making throughout the year. Players were selected following coaching staff and player input," according to the announcement.

The 2025 Player Council includes graduates Jacob Gill, Aaron Graves, Mark Gronowski, Jaden Harrell, Ethan Hurkett, Logan Jones, Hayden Large, Jeremiah Pittman and Jaxon Rexroth; seniors Gennings Dunker and Addison Ostrenga; juniors Koen Entringer and Jayden Montgomery; and sophomores Zach Lutmer and Kamari Moulton.

Iowa will begin its 2025 football season on August 30 with a home game against UAlbany at Kinnick Stadium.
