The University of Iowa has announced that its football season opener against UAlbany on August 30 is sold out. This information was confirmed Thursday by the Iowa Athletics Ticket Office.
Four of the team's seven home games have now reached full ticket capacity: Albany (August 30), UMass (September 13), Indiana (September 27), and Minnesota (October 25). Limited tickets remain for upcoming home games with Penn State (October 18) and Oregon (November 8). The regular season finale against Michigan State on November 22 also still has tickets available.
Iowa's streak of consecutive sellouts at Kinnick Stadium has now reached 21 games, a run that began at the start of the 2022 season.
Fans interested in attending remaining games can purchase tickets and participate in gameday tailgate experiences, such as the Hawkeye Village Ticket & Tailgate, for select matchups this fall.
The university emphasized that all official ticket sales are conducted through the UI Athletics Ticket Office and authorized agents. "Persons buying tickets from other entities do so at their own risk. Fans should use caution if buying tickets from unauthorized outlets and are strongly encouraged to use SeatGeek, the official fan to fan marketplace of Hawkeyes, for sold out events," according to the announcement.
Only purchases made through the UI Athletic Ticket Office or SeatGeek will be supported by staff. The athletics department stated it reserves "the right to cancel any ticket purchases, less fees, made for the purpose of resale without notification."
All tickets are distributed electronically and should be downloaded to a smartphone device. Those who do not have access to a smartphone are advised to contact the ticket office for alternative arrangements.
Tickets are released no earlier than three weeks before the season starts. Season tickets and parking passes will only be provided after all necessary contributions have been received and processed by the I-Club.
