The University of Iowa football team will hold its annual “Kids’ Day at Kinnick” on Saturday, August 9. The event is presented by the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, with support from Alliant Energy, Delta Dental of Iowa, Chick-fil-A, and Chase Bank. Gates A, B, and H will open at 10 a.m., and the open practice will begin at 11 a.m.

Team members are scheduled to sign autographs for children at around 10:30 a.m. along the front of the west and south stands. During the practice session, the 2025 Kid Captains—patients who have been recognized for their inspiring stories—will join players on the field for photos after an exclusive tour inside Kinnick Stadium. The Kid Captain program has been a partnership between UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital and the football team since 2009.

Admission to Kids’ Day is free for all fans. Free parking will be available in certain hard surface lots, but regular ramp fees apply elsewhere. Concession stands in Kinnick Stadium will operate cashless; only debit or credit cards are accepted. The stadium’s clear bag policy will also be enforced.

The Hawkeyes are set to begin their 2025 season against UAlbany on August 30 at home. Tickets remain available for five home games this fall: UAlbany (August 30), UMass (September 13), Penn State (October 18), Oregon (November 8), and Michigan State (November 22). Homecoming against Indiana (September 27) and the game versus Minnesota (October 25) are sold out.
