The City of Iowa City will be closing multiple streets and changing transit routes beginning Friday, June 30, through Sunday, July 2, 2023, for the Iowa City Jazz Festival.
The annual jazz festival organized by the Summer of the Arts brings over a dozen of the world's best jazz musicians to Downtown Iowa City for a three-day music festival. The City's firework show will take place after 9:30 p.m. Saturday on the Pentacrest, following the last performance of the day.

Road closures and parking impacts
The following roads will be closed for the festival at 6 a.m. on Friday, June 30, and will reopen late night Sunday, July 2:
- Clinton Street from Jefferson Street to Washington Street
- Iowa Avenue from Clinton Street to Dubuque Street
Parking meters on all impacted streets will be marked with "No Parking" signs before the event. Cars in violation of these regulations will be towed. Metered spots in this area do not allow parking from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. and these parking regulations will be enforced. Follow all posted parking signs to prevent your vehicle from being towed. Owners whose vehicles have been towed will need to obtain a vehicle release from the Iowa City Police Department, City Hall, 410 E. Washington St.
In addition to reduced street parking, some ramp and lot parking will be reserved for festival vendors, artists, performers, and service vehicles. Look for posted signs indicating restricted parking.
Parking ramps will remain open and staffed. All parking regulations will be in effect and enforced.
