New rates for utility services and Landfill operations will go into effect on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the beginning of the City's new fiscal year.

The changes in rates for City utilities are noted below:

• 4% rate increase for water
• 2% rate increase for wastewater
• $0.50 increase for stormwater
• $1 increase for curbside refuse
• $1 increase for curbside recycling

New rates of minimum fees for any garbage load less than 600 pounds at the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center are noted below: 

• $14 for Iowa City residents
• $15 for County residents
