North Liberty’s Water Department will be flushing hydrants throughout town over the next few weeks. Flushing hydrants is part of the department’s regular maintance of the municipal drinking water system. Flushing is expected to last through the end of May.
Occasionally, flushing can release rust from iron pipes and temporarily discolor the tap water. This is safe, but users should simply let the water run until it clears.
