The Solon Community Center will have reduced hours for the next few weeks as we experience staffing transitions.

Thank you for your patience as we sadly say good-bye to Dylan and McKenzie in the Recreation Department as we appreciate all of their work to make Solon Recreation truly awesome and wish them all the best!

Updates on Open hours will be shared on this website and on the Solon Parks & Recreation Facebook page.

Weekdays during the daytime hours are the biggest challenge during this transition period and sadly this includes early out Thursdays.  Open gym is planned for this Saturday, March 4th.  Time to be announced.

The City of Solon and Solon School district have recently renewed the lease agreement and have both committed to the Community Center for another year (through March of 2024).

As has happened for the past few years, the Community Center will be closed from April through August so staff can focus on outdoor recreation activities and outdoor maintenance then the Community Center will reopen in September for fall and winter recreation activities. Rentals of the gym and cafeteria are available year around (note - the gym is not air conditioned).

Our new Recreation Director will start on March 13th,  just in time to gear up for spring recreation activities.

To learn more about upcoming recreation activities visit the Recreation Department on the city website at https://www.solon-iowa.com/151/Recreation
