Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt

Pick up an elf hunt guide at the Recreation Department front desk, visit select local businesses and find the elves hidden there. Return your stamped guide to be rewarded with a prize from a grateful Santa Claus.
NLPD at Holiday Lights at the Lake
Nov. 30, 4:45 to 9 p.m.West Overlook Campground, W Overlook Rd NE, Iowa City
The NLPD will be joining area first responders at Holiday Lights on the Lake to direct traffic, take donations and hand out candy canes. The event is to raise money for The Bird House, a community-based not for profit dedicated to providing compassionate, dignified end-of-life care.
★ Breakfast with Santa

The jolly old elf descends on North Liberty for an early December breakfast with other fun in this annual tradition. Visit with Santa, eat a hot meal and enjoy activities and photos. Free registration is required for this event, and remaining spaces will open Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, at 6 a.m. Sorry, but we can’t accommodate walk-ins. This is a City Slate event.

Get a jump on your holiday shopping by visiting local crafters, makers and vendors. This is a City Slate event.
Holiday Cookie Walk

Just in time for the holidays, let us do your baking for you! Get your homemade holiday cookies and candies here. $6 per pre-packaged dozen. Proceeds benefit the FRIENDS of the North Liberty Library.
Gift Wrapping Room

Need a place to wrap gifts for upcoming winter holidays? The library has the space and some supplies (or BYO) for your gifting needs! There will be a variety of wrapping options, including nondenominational and nonholiday themed.
Santa’s Workshop

Drop off a letter to Santa, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate by the fire, do some activities, enjoy the holiday festivities.
Gift Wrapping Tips & Tricks

Library staff will lead a brief demonstration on some unique and fun ways to wrap gifts.
Recsters Holiday Camp
Dec. 27, 28, 29 and Jan. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.North Liberty Community Center, 520 W. Cherry St.
Full days of programming while kids are out of school, with activities and fun with our Recsters team. Registration, $50 per day, required.
Holiday Swims
Dec. 27 to 30 and Jan 3 to 6, 1 to 4 p.m.North Liberty Community Center, 520 W. Cherry St.
Enjoy the pool for extended open swim hours on your breaks from school. Drop-in admission of $2 per child and $4 per adult.
★ Noon Year’s Eve

A New Year’s celebration for the whole family with a craft, snack, dancing and midday balloon drop. This is a City Slate event.
