Second candidate announced for vice president for medical affairs, Carver College of Medicine dean

A University of Iowa search committee has announced the second finalist for the next vice president for medical affairs and dean of the Carver College of Medicine.

Cristen P. Page is executive dean of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where she leads the school’s missions of research, education, and clinical care. She supervises a team of vice deans, chairs, and center directors who work together to set a vision and strategy for the school of medicine. She sits on the UNC Health Board of Directors and UNC Health Executive Council. Her research focuses include rural health workforce and health services.

Page will meet with faculty, staff, students, shared governance, and campus leadership during a campus visit Aug. 25—26. She will participate in an open forum from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, in 1110 Prem Sahai Auditorium in the Medical Education Research Facility, 375 Newton Road.
