City of Coralville Invites Applications for Housing Rehabilitation

City of Coralville recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Coralville has funds available through the Iowa Economic Development Authority to assist homeowners with exterior improvements to their homes. The funds provide up to $25,000 per home for exterior projects including new siding, roof, fascia, soffit, gutters, exterior doors, windows, and more.  The assistance to homeowners will be in the form of a forgivable loan.

Eligible applicants live within the city limits of Coralville, are not in a 100-year flood plain, own or are purchasing their home, reside in the home as their principal residence, and meet the income requirements listed below.

* Eligibility is based on annualization of applicant’s income at the time of application and anticipated in the coming year.

Applications will be processed on a first-received, first-qualified basis. Homeowner assistance will be in the form of a five-year forgivable loan that recedes at a rate of 20% annually while the homeowner remains in the home as a primary residence.
