City of Coralville issued the following announcement on October 6.

Free Test Kits Available

Knowing your COVID-19 status can prevent you from spreading the virus to those around you. Free COVID-19 test kits are available for the public to pick up from Coralville City Hall and the Coralville Public Library, while supplies last. Please take only what you immediately need.

How to Get a Test Kit

At Coralville City Hall, 1512 7th Street, a pick-up station is located just inside the main entrance. Kits are available 7:30 am-5:00 pm weekdays, while supplies last.

At the Coralville Public Library, 1401 5th Street, a pick-up station is located at the main entrance. Kits are available Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am-7:00 pm; Friday 10:00 am-6:00 pm; Saturday 10:00 am-4:00 pm; and Sunday 12:00 pm-4:00 pm, while supplies last. Call the Library at 319.248.1850 if you need curbside pickup from your vehicle.

At both locations:

• Wear a face mask when picking up test kits.
• There is a limit of five kits per household. 
• Kits are available first come, first served while supplies last.
• Kits are restocked weekly as supplies are available. 
• If you are sick or show symptoms of COVID-19, please have a friend or family member pick up a kit for you.

What to Do With Your Test Kit

1. Everything you need to take your at-home saliva test is in the box, including instructions in English and Spanish. After you pick up your kit, follow the enclosed instructions to activate your test online.
2. Then, complete it at home or in your vehicle (not at City Hall or the Library). 
3. Follow the instructions in the kit to return your test to the nearest UPS drop-off location using the prepaid return label included in the kit. Or, return it to the dropbox at the State Hygienic Lab in Coralville, 2490 Crosspark Road. Do not return completed test kits to Coralville City Hall or the Coralville Public Library. 
4. Results are received by email about 24 hours after the sample is received at the State Hygienic Lab.
