University Of Iowa Hospital & Clinics issued the following announcement on September 9.
With COVID-19 cases rising due to the delta variant, it’s important we do everything we can to stay healthy, which includes getting vaccinated against the flu. And flu season is just around the corner. The good news? It’s easy (and free!) to receive your flu vaccine through our University Employee Health Clinic.
Here are five things you need to know about this year’s campaign.
1. Our annual employee flu campaign will run from Monday, Sept. 13, to Friday, Nov. 19
This year’s campaign gives you plenty of time to get vaccinated with several locations to make vaccination easy.
2. Participation in the campaign is required
All employees and volunteers are required to participate in the campaign. You must receive the influenza vaccine (through the University Employee Health Clinic or elsewhere) or decline it in ReadySet in order to comply. Getting your vaccine outside of the University Employee Health Clinic? Make sure you still record it in ReadySet to mark your compliance with the campaign.
3. Our goal is to have 100% campaign compliance and 95% of employees vaccinated
Getting your flu vaccine helps to avoid the risks of a “twindemic,” or the combination of dealing with high COVID-19 and flu cases in our community. Last year, 99.5% of staff complied with the campaign, with 91.5% of staff getting vaccinated against the flu.
4. ReadySet gets you ready to fight the flu
We’ll be using ReadySet to record participation in this year’s campaign.
5. Everything you need to know about the flu—in one convenient location
This page will be located on The Loop and will be your go-to spot for all information about getting the flu vaccination, complying with this year’s campaign, and preparing yourself for flu season. We’ll also be tracking our progress on this page to our goal of 95% of employees vaccinated.
