City of Iowa City issued the following announcement on August 30.
Crews will be relocating utilities along East Washington Street between Shrader Road and North Westminster Street and along North Westminster Street between East Washington Street and Bowling Green Place beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021.
Traffic control will be on-site to direct vehicles, and flaggers may be called in to help.
Utility work is expected to be complete by the end of October 2021.
Drivers, pedestrians and cyclists should allow extra travel time or take a different route while the work is being completed. As always, use caution when traveling through a work area.
