City of Iowa City issued the following announcement on August 31.

The 8 (Oakcrest,) 12 (Highway 1), and 10 (West Iowa City) westside transit routes will detour on the following University of Iowa home football game days, beginning this Saturday:

  • Saturday, Sept. 4
  • Sept. 18

  • Oct. 9
  • Oct. 16
  • Nov. 13
  • Nov. 20
As in years past, Iowa City Transit is not able to serve the areas around Kinnick Stadium or Melrose Avenue on home football games due to road closures and congestion.

The 8 - Oakcrest, 12 - Highway 1, and 10 - West Iowa City detoured football routes will leave the downtown interchange at their regularly scheduled times but will follow a different route and will serve modified stops. These detours will be in effect from 6:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Detoured Bus Routes and Schedules

Gameday bus route schedules for the detoured bus routes are available at icgov.org/busschedules.
