The University of Iowa men's basketball team has been recognized with the 2024-25 National Association Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award. Additionally, five players from the team have been named to the NABC Honors Court, as announced by the NABC on Thursday.

The players honored are Even Brauns, Josh Dix, Riley Mulvey, Payton Sandfort, and Drew Thelwell. This marks the second consecutive year that Mulvey and Sandfort have received this distinction.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards are given to programs that achieved a team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2024-25 academic year. The NABC Honors Court acknowledges junior, senior, and graduate student men’s basketball players who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher for the same period.

For the 2024-25 academic year, more than 2,400 players were named to the NABC Honors Court and nearly 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards. These awards are presented annually to college basketball teams and athletes across all levels.
