Iowa Hawkeyes announce cross country schedule for upcoming season

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The University of Iowa cross country team has announced its 2025 schedule. Randy Hasenbank, the associate head coach of cross country, made the announcement on Wednesday.

The season will commence with the Hawkeye Invite on Friday, September 5 at Ashton Cross Country Course in Iowa City. Following this opener, three regular-season meets are scheduled. The first is the Roy Griak Invite in Minneapolis on September 19, marking Iowa's return to this event for the first time since 2016.

On October 3, the Hawkeyes will compete in one of the premier meets in the country at the Joe Piane Invite hosted by the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. After a brief break, they will participate in the Pre-Nationals meet held in Columbia, Missouri on October 17.

Postseason events begin with the Big Ten Cross Country Championships on October 31 at Michigan State University in East Lansing. The NCAA Midwest Regional is set for November 14 at Greiner Family Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The NCAA Cross Country Championships will take place at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia on November 22.

The complete schedule is as follows:

- Sept. 5: Hawkeye Invite (Iowa City, Iowa)

- Sept. 19: Roy Griak Invite (Minneapolis)

- Oct. 3: Joe Piane Invite (South Bend, Ind.)

- Oct. 17: Pre-Nationals Meet (Columbia, Mo.)

- Oct. 31: Big Ten Cross Country Championships (East Lansing, Mich.)

- Nov. 14: NCAA Midwest Regional (Stillwater, Okla.)

- Nov. 22: NCAA Cross Country Championships (Columbia, Mo.)
