The University of Iowa Homecoming Committee is organizing a three-day blood drive from September 22 to 24. The event will take place in the Richey Ballroom at the Iowa Memorial Union.

This initiative is part of the Abbott & Big Ten We Give Blood Drive Competition, which challenges all Big Ten schools to collect the most blood donations. The competition runs until December 5, and participants can donate at any blood center or blood drive across the United States. The school that collects the most donations will receive a $1 million grant to support student and community health.

"Individuals can donate during Homecoming Week with UI Health Care's DeGowin Blood Center or ImpactLife. Each donation counts toward Iowa’s total, and donors will receive a limited-edition t-shirt while supplies last."

Walk-ins are welcome during the event, but donors may also reserve an appointment in advance between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. with DeGowin Blood Center.

"Logging a donation for Iowa is easier than ever. After you donate, you can submit your donation at bigten.org/abbott or text “DONATE” to ABBOTT (222688)."
