Iowa City Pride road closures announced for June 17

The City has announced road closures for the Iowa City Pride festival and parade on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

Road closures will begin at 6 a.m. Saturday to allow festival vendors to set up. The following roads will be closed: 

  • Linn Street from Iowa Avenue to the Linn Street alley just north of the Iowa City Public Library.
  • Washington Street from Clinton to Linn streets.
On-street parking will not be allowed on these streets starting at 6 a.m. until the festival has ended late Saturday night. 

Parade route details

The Pride parade will begin at noon at College Green Park, and will use the following route:

  • North on Johnson Street, starting at College Green Park
  • West on Iowa Avenue
  • South on Dubuque Street
  • East on Washington Street
  • South on Linn Street
  • East on College Street, ending at College Green Park
On-street parking along the parade route will not be allowed from 6 a.m. Saturday until after the parade ends, around 1 p.m. The exit to Clock Tower Parking Ramp will be closed at noon until the parade passes.
