A bus shelter decorating project is taking place later this summer, and the City is requesting proposals for designs.

As part of the annual Climate Fest, Sept. 20-23, 2023, the City's Climate Action and Outreach Division is soliciting designs that decorate three different bus shelters in a climate action or environmental theme. The designs are temporary and will be up for a week.

The bus stops are located on Benton Street, Boyrum Street, and Muscatine Avenue and 2nd Avenue.

Artists interested can apply online. Submissions will be accepted until noon on Friday, July 21, 2023. The selected artists will decorate their bus shelter on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023.

The budget for the project is $1,000 per bus shelter and must include all costs associated with artist’s fees, equipment, and supplies to protect the site, prepare the shelter surfaces, and decorate the shelter.
