Celebrate National Asian American and Pacific Islander Month at AAPI Awareness Festival

May is National Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month and the community is invited to learn more about the history and cultures of the AAPI community at the AAPI Awareness Festival.

The event is hosted by the Iowa Chinese Cultural Society, City of Iowa City Human Rights Commission, and Iowa City Parks and Recreation, and will take place from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Robert A. Lee Community Recreation Center Social Hall. The festival will feature live performances and activities such as lei making, hula dances, henna tattoos, a yoga demonstration and more.
