Weather permitting, American Legion Road is expected to reopen from Barrington Road to Taft Avenue beginning Monday, Dec. 5, 2022. Additional portions of American Legion Road are expected to reopen in the coming weeks as weather permits.
Sidewalks on American Legion Road between Buckingham Lane and Barrington Road - including the pedestrian tunnel - are not yet completed and will remain closed through the winter months. Sidewalk grading and paving operations will resume in 2023.
Reconstruction of the intersection of Taft Avenue and American Legion Road is scheduled to begin in spring 2023.
Motorists are to take note of this construction work and allow extra travel time or seek an alternate route until American Legion Road work is complete. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling in all construction areas.
