Host a Neighborhood Block Party on August 2 for National Night Out
On Tuesday evening, August 2, 2022, all Coralville neighborhoods are invited to take part in the annual National Night Out.
Whether you know your neighbors or not, National Night Out is a community-building event held one night a year for neighbors to connect. It helps build neighborhood camaraderie while strengthening ties with local law enforcement. This neighborly event helps make Coralville neighborhoods friendlier and safer places to live.
The Coralville Police Department invites neighborhoods to get together and host block parties on August 2. The block parties give neighbors a chance to meet through simple neighborhood events. Neighborhoods can host a party in a way that safely suits their residents – whether it’s a backyard barbeque, driveway dinner, or music and kids’ activities. Representatives from the Coralville Police Department, Fire Department, and City Council will get out and visit as many registered parties as they can.
National Night Out is a night for neighbors to get to know each other, and to get to know local law enforcement. Strong neighborhood ties can build community partnerships and create watchful eyes in neighborhoods, which help to promote crime prevention.
Neighborhoods can register their block parties and get planning tips at www.coralville.org/NationalNightOut. For more information, contact the Coralville Police Department at 319.248.1800 or visit www.coralville.or/NationalNightOut.
