City of Iowa City issued the following announcement on November 02.
A new Iowa City Police officer was sworn in during a ceremony Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, in Emma Harvat Hall.
Officer Todd Gusta is from the city of Cedar Rapids. Officer Gusta attended Kirkwood Community College for two years and is a member of the Iowa Army National Guard. Officer Gusta was previously employed by the Linn County Sheriff's Office and Coralville Police Department.
Officer Gusta graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in April 2020 and will immediately enter into the department's field training program.
